According to the information card –
“On the south end of the large portico with swimming pool was a curving wall (nymphaeum) subdivided into eight exhedrae plastered with polychrome stuccoes, architectural motives and animated views, acting as a sort of stage-front for the swimming pool.
The central niches contained mosaics representing The Rape of Europe and Frixus with Elle.
Immediately behind the nymphaeum runs a tunnel (numbered 62-63), only partly excavated, with the same curvature as the nymphaeum.”

According to the information card –

Castellammare di Stabia, Villa San Marco. Room 65, stucco relief of athlete from lower wall of niche 7 of the nymphaeum. Now in Naples Archaeological Museum.  Inventory number 9578.
According to Parslow, this stucco relief of a gymnast with a hoop was removed in August 1752, and taken to the museum at Portici. See Parslow, C.C. (1998). Rediscovering Antiquity: Karl Weber and the Excavation of Herculaneum, Pompeii and Stabiae. UK,Cambridge UP (p.178-9, fig.50). Underneath this was a painting of Diana and Acteon.
