IX.5.6 Pompeii. Room 3, ala, on east side of atrium, drawing by Discanno of the central painting from the east wall.
The painting was found in a bad condition but showed the divinity of light, Apollo-Sol, sitting on a rock.
According to PPM it may be the death of Orion because the spears and hunting dogs show it was a hunter.
An alternative could be the death of Adonis, but it is not possible to make any clear identification of Venus.
