According to Garcia y Garcia, the entrance and a small
part of the atrium were newly excavated in 1910.
The walls of the atrium appeared very grand to the
excavators being decorated in glittering IV stile.
The external façade to the south of the entrance was
covered with a frescoed decoration partly conserved.
In the bombardment of 13th September 1943, a bomb fell on
this entrance doing much damage.

Bretschneider. (p.137)

According to Jashemski, on the left was a doorway with a
grand view through a large room to a courtyard garden (not photographed).
Beyond the garden was a stately oecus.
In the courtyard garden, a fountain jet rose in the middle
of the round pool.
Faint traces show that the interior of the pool had been
painted blue.
A gutter around the edge of the pool carried off roof
water.

According to
Jashemski, this garden area was a long hanging garden, created by placing soil
on the roof of the rooms below.
A small marble pool,
edged with a marble border was located in front of the windows of the important
oecus with a bay window, which faced the garden.

Four people met their death in this house, three of them
died huddled together on this staircase.
They were discovered in November 1961. It was possible to
make casts of the group of three.
The lowest of the three bodies remains where it was
discovered.
The fourth skeleton was lying on the landing at the bottom
of the stairs but only a photo remains of this skeleton.
