Ad est del
braccio trasversale dell’euripus che adorna il giardino della casa, s’apre un
ninfeo e, dinanzi, il bacino di una vasca rettangolare.
Ai lati di esso
si dispongono i due letti tricliniari in muratura.
Il l. summus
era addossato al muro con due lati mentre il l. imus, dista 60 cm. dal
muro cui era addossato il ninfeo; le spondae (sponde esterne) di
entrambi
i letti sono
rialzate. I letti hanno un rivestimento in intonaco rosso, e su quello summus
era l’indicazione “Lucius pinxit”, che ci tramanda la firma del pittore dei due
dipinti a soggetto mitologico del ninfeo: Narciso al fonte e Piramo e Tisbe.

According to Wilhelmina, this was found on the terrace, but according to Spinazzola, possibly stood in the aedicula, and that water may have splashed from the basin which the statuette supported on its shoulders.
However, Dr. Salza Prina Ricotti pointed out that, at least today, there is no evidence of pipes to justify it as a fountain.
