According to Della
Corte, this magnificient dwelling, belonged to the Verus family.
According to the
graffiti written on the façade, this was A. Rustius Verus, noted as aedile and
duumvir candidate.
Another mentioned was
Ti. Claudius Verus, who held the position of supreme magistrate for the year
61-62.
Much graffiti was
found on the façade, especially between IX.8.6 and 7, for this see IX.8.7.
