IX.5.2 Pompeii. c.1930. Looking north across central emblema in tablinum. According to Blake – Similar (to VII.6.28) is the pavement of the tablinum of IX.V.2, both in the grade of cement and in the pattern. To the floral design at each corner dolphins are added, and, instead of reticulate, the imbrication pattern decorates the threshold. Since a type of brick wall not known at Pompeii until the early Empire rests upon the cement, this pavement is relatively early. See Blake, M., (1930). The pavements of the Roman Buildings of the Republic and Early Empire. Rome, MAAR, 8, (p.26, Pl.3, tav.1).

According to Blake –

Similar (to VII.6.28) is the pavement of the tablinum of IX.V.2, both in the grade of cement and in the pattern.
