VIII.1.4 Pompeii. Antiquarium. Opened either 1861 (Maiuri) or 1873-4 (SAP).

Including the Larario dei Pompeianisti which was opened in 1948.

Bombed 1943. Reconstructed 1947. Reopened 13th June 1948.

Closed after earthquake in 1980. Reopened 2016.

VIII.1.4 Pompeii Antiquarium. 1978. Plan and description of antiquarium published just before its temporary closure in 1978.
There are four long galleries, two Roman, a Samnite and a pre-Samnite gallery and the shorter Sala di Livia.
The principal entrance was on the terrace having come up from Piazzale dell'Esedra.
VIII.1.4 was an exit into Pompeii or an entry to the antiquarium on the way out of the excavations.

According to the description card in the Antiquarium -
The bronze krater was decorated with eight armed male figures, six standing and two sitting. 
One of the seated figures is tying his shoelaces.
A young man stands in front of him holding a shield, with a bearded figure holding a staff behind.
Young and naked, the second seated figure caresses an animal with one hand and holds a sword by the hilt in the other.

According to the description card in the Antiquarium -
