The walls are preserved to only a fraction of their height and are now protected by modern tiles.
The floor was paved with white and black stone in a manner datable to the mid second-century BCE (the early date also indicated by an Oscan inscription that names the quaestor Oppius Campanus, not visible here).
Just off to the left, inside the cella wall part of the ovoid stone, or omphalos (the navel) sacred to Apollo is visible.
The base for the cult statue survives at the back of the cella (the statue was not found).
The stucco covering of the walls is fairly well preserved inside the cella walls and represents upright orthostats of faux marble . . . an indicator of the so-called First style of Campanian wall decoration (and another indicator of the date of the structure).
The door jambs are of Sarno limestone; the cella walls constructed elsewhere of rubble masonry and concrete.
The temple was probably awaiting reconstruction in 70 CE, having been damaged in the earthquake of 62 CE.

The inscription, in Oscan written from
