VII.3.30 Pompeii. Found in the tablinum.

Wall painting of The Breadseller or The Distribution of Bread or The Baker’s shop.

Now in Naples Archaeological Museum. Inventory number 9071

According to Della Corte, the vicolo was named because this painting was thought to be of a breadseller, but according to Fiorelli and De Petra, the painting showed a magistrate distributing bread to the people. Della Corte thought this house should therefore be attributed to an anonymous magistrate.
