According to De Jorio –
“Questa casa fu scavata parte nel 1826 e tutta poi nel 1831.
In quest’ultima epoca si era disotterrato alle spalle del suo tablino un portico ed un piccolo viridario, donde per una scaletta si cala uscendo nell’opposto vicolo,e nel tempo stesso si discende ad una stanza sotterranea.”
(Trans: “This house was excavated in part in 1826 and then completely excavated in 1831.
In this last era a portico and a small garden had been unearthed behind the tablinum, where a staircase descended into the opposite vicolo, and at the same time descended to an underground room.")
