According to Della Corte, high up on the black zoccolo to the right of entrance number 3, two graffitoed names were found –

 

Mendax [CIL IV, 8434].

In Notizie degli Scavi di Antichità, 1913, on p. 358, Della Corte wrote

“On the pilaster to the left of entrance number 3, and above the zoccolo (plinth), the following programma came back to light -

 

Gavium Rufum / d(uumvirum) i(ure) d(icundo) o(ro) v(os) f(aciatis) [CIL IV, 7412]

And beneath it was an older one, which had mainly vanished, and another –

 

Ampliatum / aed(ilem) [CIL IV, 7413]

On the corresponding high brick plinth, an epigraph was traced with a red stone -

Barba(rus) / barbaru(s) [CIL IV, 8436]
