This is the location of the Porta Occidentalis or Western Gate, originally with houses at each side but the house was built over it in Roman times.
Researchers at The University of Suor Orsola Benincasa discovered the presence of the Porta Occidentalis (posterula) with access to the city, aligned on an axis with via di Nola and Porta di Nola inside a contemporarily chronological arch ascribable to between III and II century BC.

Questa è la posizione della Porta Occidentalis o Porta Occidentale, originariamente con case su ogni lato, ma la casa è stata costruita su di esso in epoca romana.
I ricercatori dell'Università di Suor Orsola Benincasa hanno scoperto la presenza della Porta Occidentalis (posterula) con accesso alla città, allineata su un asse con via di Nola e Porta di Nola all’interno di un arco cronologico coevo ascrivibile tra III e II secolo a.C.
